Chatter, Chalk & Song starts THIS WEEK for the Fall semester! 🎶

We're so excited to welcome little musicians and movers to our new Music & Movement classes with Miss Zora!

We've moved our classes into our Chatter & Chalk classroom to create a smaller, cozier, and more welcoming environment where children can feel comfortable exploring music, movement, and play at their own pace.

Our classes are neurodiversity-affirming! We celebrate different ways of learning, moving, communicating, and participating. Whether your child is singing along, dancing, observing, or exploring instruments in their own way, there's a place for them here!

Ages 2–4: Tuesdays at 5:30 PM (starts October 13)

Ages 5–7: Wednesdays at 5:30 PM (starts October 14)

$15 per class or $55 per month

One Halloween sensory bin. Endless opportunities for learning through play! 👻

Here are 10 ways our OT and SLP use it to build skills:

1. Fine Motor Strength: Use oversized chip clips to pinch, grasp, and pick up hidden Halloween pictures.

2. Visual Scanning: Search through the sensory bin to locate specific pictures or objects.

3. Matching Skills: Find Halloween pictures and match them to corresponding images on a scavenger hunt board.

4. Vocabulary Development: Label, describe, and talk about the spooky objects discovered in the bin.

5. Following Directions: Practice one- and two-step directions like “Find the ghost and put it on the matching picture!”

6. Speech Sound Production: Hide /s/ picture cards in the bin, find them, and practice producing target words.

7. Phonological Awareness: Identify beginning sounds, segment words into sounds, or blend sounds together using the hidden pictures.

8. CVC Word Decoding: Find hidden letter magnets, arrange them to build CVC words, and match them to written words on a board.

9. Hand-Eye Coordination: Use clips or other tools to retrieve and place objects onto designated targets.

10. Sensory Exploration: Explore different textures while supporting tactile tolerance, sensory discrimination, and regulation.

Same bin. Different goals. Purposeful play!

🎶 Introducing Chatter, Chalk & Song with Miss Zora! 🎶

We’re excited to offer two Music & Movement classes this fall at Chatter & Chalk! These classes are all about learning through music, movement, rhythm, instruments, listening, coordination, and creativity, while having a whole lot of fun along the way. This year, we are moving these classes into our Academy classrooms for a cozier and more supportive experience.

🎵 Ages 2–4: Tuesdays at 5:30 PM, beginning October 13
🎵 Ages 5–7: Wednesdays at 5:30 PM, beginning October 14

Classes are $15 per class or $55 per month and will be led by Miss Zora!

Sharing for any families who may be interested!

Cub Scout Pack 50 is an inclusive, neurodiversity-affirming family pack that welcomes and celebrates children of all abilities, disabilities, and neurotypes.

With hands-on STEM, outdoor adventures, games, and plenty of opportunities for friendship and fun, this could be a great community activity for some of our Chatter & Chalk kiddos!

Happy National Play-Doh Day! 🎉

Of course we had to celebrate one of our FAVORITE learning tools! We used Play-Doh in speech therapy AND throughout our Pre-K classrooms today.

Squish it. Roll it. Build it. Talk about it. Learn with it.

Multi-sensory learning is kind of our thing around here, and Play-Doh makes an appearance pretty often!
