Next Wednesday, December 7 at 3 p.m. in front of Oglebay Hall at the mast and bell of the USS West Virginia West Virginia University Center for Veteran, Military, and Family programs office alongside WVU ROTC detachments and local veteran service organizations will be honoring the lives lost at Pearl Harbor in 1941 with our annual Pearl Harbor Day Remembrance Ceremony.

If anyone is looking for a good cause to donate to this holiday season, We highly recommend wreaths across America. It’s mission is to remeber and honor Veterans by laying wreaths all across the US at each national cemetery.

Here is the link for the WV national cemetery. If you can’t donate, please share the link as they are still in need of more wreaths.

Hershel “Woody” Williams VA Medical Center

Today at 3:15am, Hershel Woodrow Williams, affectionately known by many as Woody went home to be with the Lord. Woody peacefully joined his beloved wife Ruby while surrounded by his family at the VA Medical Center which bears his name.

Details about the funeral and memorial services will be shared as that information becomes available.

Woody’s family would like to express their sincere gratitude for all of the love and support. They would also like to share that
