Last call for flowers y'all! We are coming to a close for our spring sales and we'd really like for these cuties to have a home! Come see us today or tomorrow from 2 - 5PM.

After tomorrow (June 5th) we will be closing up for the summer -BUT- we will briefly pop open when Mannon Gallegly's tomato lines are ready towards the middle of this month.

We are getting close to the end and will be reducing our hours accordingly, therefore we will no longer be open on Saturdays for spring sales.

Highlights:
🔹️ Sales continue on 4-inch bedding annuals and herb/veg: $4/each or you can mix & match a full flat of ten plants for $30
🔹️Sales are now starting on 1gal grasses and cannas:
- Prince Tut & Vertigo Purple Fountain grass $12/ea. or mix & match a full flat of four plants for $36
- All cannas & Mega Purple Fountain grass $10/ea. or mix & match a full flat of four plants for $30
🔹️ We've got loads of lantana! Don't sleep on this annual if you want something that can take the heat and handle drought!
🔹️ Tomatillos are buy 1 get 1 free 😅

Anyhoo! More plant material has been released today AND we are having a sale on 4-inch annuals/herbs & veg. All 4in annuals are $4 each OR you can purchase a full flat of ten for $30!

The Davis College Store closes at 5pm today and is open from 11 to 2pm Saturday!

Updated DCS hours this week:
May 21 & 22: 2-5pm

Highlights:
🌱 We are bringing out the remaining plant stock from Dr. Verlinden's Crop Growth and Development class: (pictured) 6-inch potted florist mums and large containers of delphinium used for commencement.
🌱 We are sowing seed from all of Dr. Mannon Gallegly's lines today. They should be ready mid-June and will come in 6 packs (either "606 inserts" or "1206 inserts" depending on their size).

We heard a lot of thoughtful stories regarding Mannon's tomatoes and noticed a lot of folks came to buy after we sold out. We had to sow some more 🤷🏻‍♀️
Mannon would definitely approve.

Student Spotlight: Meet Phoenix, one of our Federal Work-study staff members!

Phoenix and the rest of the Work-studies have been working hard this semester with both greenhouse operations and Davis College Store prep.

Phoenix is pictured with their favorite plant, the begonia hybrid 'iCandy Vanilla Cream'.

Phoenix is an Environmental, Soil, and Water Science major with minors in:
🔹️ Communication
🔹️ Sustainable Design
🔹️ Environmental protection

Their plan is to go to grad school here at (let's goooo) for Environmental Science, pursue a PhD, and eventually teach. They play guitar, draw, and hang out with their cat, Beanie 🐈‍⬛️. Their favorite song is "Love Takes Miles" by Cameron Winter.

Hey y'all! Quick update: We see you, we hear you, and I wanted to let you know we are hard at work on getting ready to open NEXT WEEK! We still need to hammer out a few things before we announce days and times - so TBD ASAP.

But yes, we are here, we are working hard, the plants are looking great, and we can't wait to see ya.

- Tomatoes (yes, we will have WV 63's), peppers, and herbs
- Other edibles: Concord Grape & Guava
- Summer annuals (flowers & foliage & texture)
- Hanging Baskets
- Perennials
- House plants
- Mixed planters

All plants grown and sold by students: Greenhouse Management, Plant Propagation, and Crop Growth & Development classes; Independent Study students (Rylee & Audrey); and our Federal Work-study staff: Maggie, Ryan, Emily, Laken, Phoenix, and Lane!
