Getting back to school & restarting things you were doing last semester is one of the best gauges we have as instructors to tell us how we’re doing.

These pictures make me proud. Not of the instructors but of the cadets. Our senior cadets remember what they learned & they’re teaching/leading their new team mates. That’s what I see when I look at these pictures.

We had a great first semester in BCHS NJROTC so we’d like to take a moment to share some of the things that our cadets did.

We took part in several activities during the semester including our color guard, orientation trips to Fort Campbell & the WKU ROTC unit, our annual Navy Ball, the Veteran’s Day program and parade, community service at Morgantown Mission and Toys for Tots, the Morganton Christmas Parade, as well as competitions completed by our Orienteering and Rifle teams. Great job!

Our orienteering team had a great weekend competing against 60 cadets from other NJROTC units.

Cadet Lieutenant Commander James Jones earned 1st place in individual competition!

Our team consisting of cadets Raegan Clay, Jace Martin, & Jayce Wilson took second place in teams!

It’s a new year here at BCHS NJROTC. Our cadets did a fantastic job at Friday night’s homecoming game and we’re very proud of them! We had both a sword arch detail for the homecoming ceremony and our color guard for the national anthem.

Great job!

Just in case you thought that knowledge was the only thing our Academic Team is good at, I present breakdancing.

Our academic team had strong performance last Saturday, completing 4 rounds in our Area 8 Brain Brawl competition. In addition Cadet James Jones won the individual competition!

We also visited the Tennessee Aquarium in Chattanooga.
