You can arrive anytime between 5:00 and 6:30 PM and stay until 7:00 PM.

What an AMAZING First Day at WVA! 💙💛

WVA Families,

What a day! We could not have asked for a better first day of school. Our building was filled with smiling faces, excited scholars, enthusiastic Professors, and so much energy. It was truly wonderful to see our WVA family back together again!

Seeing our scholars walk through the doors this morning was one of the best parts of the day. Whether they were returning scholars or joining the WVA family for the first time, we loved welcoming each and every one of them. Today was a reminder of why we do what we do every day.

We also want to share a few important reminders as we begin settling into our routines.

Dismissal Reminder

Our dismissal time has changed from last school year. We begin dismissal at 3:20 PM.

We ask that families please be patient and flexible during the first week of school. Dismissal will likely take longer than it will later in the year as we establish our new rhythm.

We have many new families joining WVA this year, and we also have a new Professor calling scholar names during dismissal. There is a learning curve for all of us as we learn names, routines, cars, and procedures.

We promise, it will get better each day! As our Professors and scholars become more familiar with the process, we expect dismissal times to become shorter and more efficient.

Please remember that our goal is always to get every scholar to the correct adult safely and efficiently. Thank you for giving our team the grace and patience needed during these first few days.

Today was just the beginning, and we are already so excited about what this school year will bring.

Thank you for trusting us with your scholars. Thank you for partnering with us. Most importantly, thank you for being part of the West Virginia Academy family.

Beginning of the Year Information for WVA Families

Dear West Virginia Academy Families,

We are officially counting down to the first day of school! We are so excited to welcome our scholars back to West Virginia Academy for another great year of learning, growth, friendships, and new adventures.

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who was able to join us for Meet and Greet! It was wonderful seeing our families, welcoming new scholars, reconnecting with returning scholars, and filling the building with excitement. We cannot wait to see everyone on the first day!

As we prepare for the start of school, please review the important information below regarding arrival, dismissal, transportation, and lunches.

Beginning of the Day and Dismissal

Before Care: WVA opens at 7:00 AM for families who need Before Care services.
Morning Car Riders: Our doors will open for morning car riders at 7:40 AM. Car riders should arrive between 7:40 AM and 8:00 AM.
Dismissal: We will begin dismissal at 3:20 PM.
After Care: After Care will be available until 5:30 PM.

Please help us make arrival and dismissal as smooth as possible by following these times and procedures. We appreciate your patience as everyone gets into the rhythm of a new school year!

We are excited to provide transportation for our scholars this year. Please carefully review the updated bus and van schedules.

Important Bruceton Update:
The Bruceton stop has changed. We are no longer picking up at Little Sandy's. Our new Bruceton pickup location is:

Bruceton Dam: 7:00 AM

The remaining morning stops are:

Please allow 10 to 15 minutes of flexible time during the first few days as our drivers, scholars, and families work through this new schedule. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we establish consistent transportation times.

At this time, we will be offering one van route.

The morning van route will begin in Reedsville:

Snake Hill: 7:25 AM
Imperial View: 7:35 AM
Aspria Estates: 7:38 AM

Please note that van seating is extremely limited, and the van is currently at capacity. We will share additional information if availability changes.

Lunch Information

This year, West Virginia Academy is excited to partner with the Healthy Kids Lunch Program to provide hot lunches for our scholars.

Hot lunches will begin on Monday, August 24.

Because the lunch program will not begin until August 24, please plan to pack a lunch for your scholar during the first two weeks of school.

Be on the lookout for more lunch information tomorrow, including:

* The Healthy Kids lunch menu
* Lunch pricing
* How to place your scholar's lunch order
* Additional information about the lunch program

Please remember to send your scholar to school each day with a water bottle. Staying hydrated throughout the school day is important, especially as we begin the new school year.

We Are Ready for a Great Year!

The classrooms are ready. Our professors are ready. Our team is ready. Most importantly, we are ready to welcome our scholars back!

We are so excited to welcome our scholars and families back to West Virginia Academy! Join us for our **2026-2027 Meet & Greet** this Friday, August 7, from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM.

This is a great opportunity to kick off the new school year and get ready for an amazing year at WVA!

During Meet & Greet, families will have the opportunity to:

🏫 Visit classrooms and explore the school
📚 Learn more about the upcoming school year
📝 Pick up important information and resources
💙 Reconnect with our WVA community
✨ Help your scholar feel comfortable and excited for the first day of school

Stop by anytime between 11:00 AM and 6:00 PM. We hope the extended hours make it easier for all of our families to join us.

Our professors and staff have been working hard to prepare classrooms, plan for the year ahead, and get everything ready to welcome our Trailblazers back to WVA.

We cannot wait to see familiar faces, welcome our new families, and officially kick off the 2026-2027 school year together!
