Hard to believe it’s been 25 years. We need to remember and teach the next generations. Thank you to the brave men and women who saved lives and paid the ultimate sacrifice.🙏🏼🇺🇸

Today, we honor the 25th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

Nearly 3,000 people lost their lives at the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and in a rural field in Pennsylvania. It was the deadliest terrorist attack ever to take place on American soil.

We remember all the men and women who lost their lives simply for being Americans—representing the faith and freedoms that can overcome evil.

May we, as a nation, rededicate ourselves to those freedoms and to our faith in God as we strive to Never Forget.

We traveled back in time last week to the late 1800s during our trip to Spring Mill State Park! It was so cool to see a functioning grain mill, especially one powered by a water wheel!! There are so many buildings and fun things to do at this park, we can’t wait to go back!! Thank you to everyone for a magical day!!🙏🏼💗

A couple weeks ago we held one of our favorite tribe building games of the year, the AAM Chopped Kitchen!! The surprise ingredients were beef liver, radishes and dates! The creativity and the way both teams applied what we learned about proper knife skills and food safety was so impressive! Also, a huge shout out to our expert judges, our Spark Studio!! Our Spark learners were brave and tried all the items that were cooked for them! This was definitely an epic battle, congratulations to our Middle School learners for their win!!💪🏼👏🏼

It takes work, patience, collaboration, courage and practice from each learner to make an Acton exhibition successful. Real world skills! When these are repeated over time, these skills grow and improve. From our youngest learners to our oldest learners, they are all nervous to speak at an exhibition. But when you practice courage over and over, you begin to realize the strength that comes from leaning into courage. That strength then becomes confidence, and a willingness to take on greater challenges. These skills aren’t developed just because you reach a certain age or because you’re given a diploma; they take practice. Amazing work to all on your courage today and for conquering your Session #1 Exhibition!! You crushed it and should all be so proud!!🔥💪🏼

“When should a hero submit to authority?”
At Acton, every year we have an overarching question that ties our quest themes together and that we discuss almost weekly in Adventure Studio and the Next Steps Studio. This year, our question of the year is, “When should a hero submit to authority?” We discuss this during our first session as we dig into our founding fathers and their decisions to not submit to authority, after repeated attempts to have their voices heard. We also consider whose authority we are called to follow and how this question connects to the importance of us being seekers of truth!✝️🇺🇸

This year, our Middle Schoolers will get to open a farm business and learn the real-world skills of running that business! So of course, we needed a few milk goats so we could add to our store produce!! 🤣🤣 They are baby Nigerian Dwarf goats, so we won’t be milking them yet…just loving them and carrying them around as pets!! Our older goats were scared of them at first, and they were scared of the cat 😂😂 but everyone seems to have adjusted now!! Never a dull moment at AAM!! 😅🤣🐐

Why start a school?
Because the past couple weeks we’ve had a group of Middle Schoolers practicing their lip dub, which they voted would be to the song, “Demons,” by Josiah Queen. And we’ve had the privilege of listening to them practice. Try sitting in a room of Middle School students singing about casting out demons in Jesus name and not beginning to ugly cry! Thank you Lord for allowing us to be a part of what you’re doing in the lives of these young people!!😭✝️🙏🏼
