Congratulations, Dr. Swan! Well deserved!
Congratulations to our superintendent, Dr. Mike Swan, on being named the 2027 Regional Superintendent of the Year by NWRESA.
Dr. Swan’s student-centered leadership, focus on academic opportunities for all, workforce development, balanced instruction and strong community partnerships continue to make a lasting impact in our district and across the region and state.
From classroom teacher to superintendent, Dr. Swan’s 28-year career reflects a deep commitment to public education and helping every student thrive.

Our carnival is this Friday! We're excited! Hope to see you there!
North Liberty School is hosting a Spring Carnival on May 1 from 4:00 - 7:00 at 523 Enola Road. Tickets are $5 each ($20 max for families). Hot dog dinners are $3 each and include a hot dog, chips, a drink, and a sweet treat. Cash or check payment only. Activities include bounce houses, corn hole, adaptive painting, blinko, tattoos, tic-tac-toe, cake walk, fishing booth, giant bubbles, and a sensory tent. There will be inclusive fun for all! Come on out! Everyone is welcome!

Good evening North Liberty families! This is your principal, Sarah Call, with some updates for the coming week. I hope you had a wonderful spring break! We can't wait to see all of our North Liberty Stars tomorrow morning as we return for a full week of school.
Coming up on the calendar:
- There is a Family Connect Night on April 23rd at 6:00 at W.A. Young Elementary School for the students and families of all BCPS self contained classrooms. There will be accessible fun and games for everyone to enjoy.
- Our 50's themed Prom for high school students will happen during the school day on Friday, April 24th. Reach out to your student's teacher for questions about purchasing tickets and prom pictures.
- We are bringing back the North Liberty Spring Carnival! This year's carnival will be on May 1st from 4:00-7:00 pm. It's going to be tons of fun! Tickets are $5 per person and not more than $20 per family. Ticket prices cover all games and prizes. There will be hot dog dinners and other treats for sale. Make sure you mark your calendar!

Burke County Public Schools will host a Community Resources and Transition Fair from noon to 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 19 at Olive Hill Resource Center, 509 West Concord St., Morganton. The same information will be available in Spanish from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The event is for those interested in learning about resources for students with disabilities in our area, from school-age to beyond high school. Visit booths featuring Partners, The Enola Group, Bayada, NC ABLE, Dream Connections, ECAC and more.
