The graduation ceremony for the Class of 2026 will be held in the Freedom High School Main gym due to the weather forecast for the next several days.

The ceremony will still take place on Saturday, May 30th at 9:00 am.

Each graduate will receive seven graduation tickets at graduation practice on Friday, May 29th. Graduation practice starts at 10:00 am and is required for all graduates. Please report to the same room that you reported to for awards night at 10:00 am on Friday, May 29th.

We encourage any graduate who will not need all seven of their graduation tickets to consider sharing their extra tickets with a classmate who may need an extra ticket.

All guests will be required to have a ticket to enter the main gym. This includes babies, toddlers, and children who may sit in an adult's lap. All attendees count towards our fire code capacity.

To help ensure every Burke County Public Schools family can celebrate these important milestones, all high school graduation ceremonies will be streamed live on YouTube, and a link to a special webpage will be emailed to all families of graduates who have an email address on file. Live streams will become available approximately 10-15 minutes before each ceremony begins, and recordings of each graduation will remain available on the webpage afterward for anyone who is unable to watch live.

Congratulations to our superintendent, Dr. Mike Swan, on being named the 2027 Regional Superintendent of the Year by NWRESA.

Dr. Swan’s student-centered leadership, focus on academic opportunities for all, workforce development, balanced instruction and strong community partnerships continue to make a lasting impact in our district and across the region and state.

From classroom teacher to superintendent, Dr. Swan’s 28-year career reflects a deep commitment to public education and helping every student thrive.

2026 Freedom Patriots!

Today, the Freedom High School JROTC proudly assisted the Veterans of Foreign Wars at Burke Memorial Park with placing flags on the graves of our veterans.

This special tradition honors the brave men and women who served our country and made countless sacrifices for our freedom. We are thankful for the opportunity to help recognize and remember our heroes.
