Over 30 of Burke & Caldwell Counties' Bravests are completing their 48 hr. Haz-Mat Operations certification class at Drowning Creek FD tonight. Here are some of their training activities over the past 3 weeks! Thank you to Drowning Creek Fire Dept. for hosting and Harry Brittain for his instruction.

We are seeing some activity at our new Regional Training Center. Today, our ESTC staff, EVD Instructors Josh Smith and Harry Brittain, along with Morganton DPS, began designing and trying out the new apparatus driving course.

***COURSE ANNOUNCEMENTS***
We are announcing our upcoming TR Rope Rescue Technician Certification program at our new Regional Training Facility beginning in September!! These courses will be offered as separate classes and will be tested at the conclusion of each course. STUDENTS ARE NOT REQUIRED TO BE CERTIFIED FIREFIGHTERS OR HAVE COMPLETED THE INTRO TO TR COURSE PRIOR TO ATTENDING THIS SERIES OF CLASSES. The TR Rope Rescue Technician Certification is required for several other TR Specialty classes. (i.e. Water, Trench, Confined Space, Collapse, Wilderness...)

If you are out and about Burke Co. today or tomorrow and observe this aircraft flying around it is a demonstration of a new aircraft for EMS response in wilderness and remote regions. Tomorrow, Pilot Quinn Reece will conduct a small presentation and demo at Catawba Meadows Park at 10am if you would like an up close look.

We are cleaning out our old inventory of Fire, Haz-Mat, Rescue, IFSTA & other textbooks and an assortment of VHS Training tapes.
Instead of disposing of them, I would like to offer them to our stakeholders, instructors, or community colleges.
*FREE* First come first serve. We do not deliver!
We have 30+ American Heat VHS Tapes and other VHS Safety-Related Training tapes for distribution.

Here's a quick reminder of our upcoming Instructor workshop on October 7th. Space is limited so do not delay signing up to attend. All Community College Fire & Rescue Directors are also encouraged to attend to learn more about the courses and delivery options for VFIS classes.
