WPCC Medical Laboratory Technology

We loved hosting Camp Med today and introducing high school students to the vital role of the medical laboratory. Proud of our MLT students for leading such a great experience!

Today was our first day back on campus for the summer semester and we had a great time collaborating with our nursing department. Our students participated in some great discussions around case study scenarios and professionalism in the healthcare setting. A great start to the semester!

Still adding more wrinkles to their brains 🧠 even on the last day of MLT classes this semester! 🐂 💙 🎉
Our students ran patient samples on our EXL, clinical chemistry analyzer 🔬 and teamed up for an activity analyzing Levey-Jennings QC charts 📈🤝. Ending the semester with real-world skills, teamwork, and critical thinking! 👏

Students are powering through to the end of the semester! 💪📚
In Clinical Chem, we completed calibrations on our EXL chemistry analyzer and ran TSH kit testing 🧪🔬
In Special Micro, students tackled mononucleosis testing as part of our viral unit 🦠
And in Intro, students kept building skills with phlebotomy techniques, created order-of-draw bracelets, and even explored an autoclave lab using our VR headsets 🩸🥽✨

Our WPCC MLT students took the Lab Week celebration to the next level by participating in the Lab Week Run, they showed up strong! 💪🎉 It’s always amazing to see our future laboratory professionals outside the classroom celebrating their field and having a little fun along the way.
