This 5 week program leads newly assigned Detention Officers toward receiving their state certification. Director Bryan Christy and Assistant Richard Blevins took part in the Western North Carolina STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) event held at the J.E. Broyhill Civic Center in Lenoir on September 30 and October 1. Director Bryan Christy and his assistants attended the North Carolina Criminal Justice Standards annual School Directors conference held in Greensboro. At the conference, School Directors from across the state meet to receive updates and learn of upcoming changes, as well as gain valuable insight from keynote speakers and presentations. It also presents attendees with the opportunity to network and collaborate with other Directors from across the state to insure the highest levels of training for future law enforcement officers throughout North Carolina.
