Western Piedmont Community College Law Enforcement Training Center is excited to offer in conjunction with Clemson University a study in Basic Internal Investigations.

This course provides participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to conduct professional and legally sound internal affairs investigations. Instruction covers the intake of internal affairs complaints, proper documentation, investigative procedures, and the application of relevant case law throughout the investigative process.
The first two days consist of classroom instruction, course materials, and discussion on investigative best practices, including the appropriate use of polygraph examinations as part of the investigative process. On the third day, participants will apply the concepts learned through scenario-based, hands-on practical exercises.
The course is presented by Clemson University's Center for Public Safety Research and the Laboratory for Credibility Assessment. Instructors Nate Brooks and Marc Sharpe bring extensive law enforcement experience and years of expertise conducting and supervising internal investigations, providing participants with practical knowledge and real-world insight.
