We love being able to support a small business while helping coworkers and friends! ❤️

If you need bulletin board supplies, go check out Teacher's Pet in Morganton, NC! They are so kind and helpful! ✂️📚

Check out these two bulletin boards we put together using supplies from Teachers Pet! We were happy to help the WPCC Dental Assisting program get their boards covered while the Coordinator is busy preparing for Dental Hygiene Accreditation later this month. 🦷💙

Over in K Building, Cosmetology partnered with WPCC Horticulture to bring some fun and color to the bulletin board! 🌿🌸

Cosmetology building update!🔨

Over the past week, the construction crew has been hard at work completing the plumbing and preparing for the concrete to be poured. Check out the video to see their progress!

🎓 What’s Going On Around Campus? 🎓

While our Cosmetology Center is under construction, many of WPCC’s other programs have been busy learning, growing, and gaining hands-on experience!

🩸 Medical Laboratory Technology
Students have been busy in the lab learning all about blood and developing essential laboratory skills!WPCC Medical Laboratory Technology

🩺 Medical Assisting
These students are in full swing practicing administrative, clinical, and laboratory skills to prepare for their future careers.WPCC Medical Assisting

🍎 Early Childhood Education
The program recently celebrated the ribbon cutting of its new mock classroom a wonderful space where students can learn, practice, and prepare to inspire young minds!WPCC Early Childhood Education

Dental Assisting students are hard at work mastering maxillary and mandibular impressions. WPCC Dental Assisting

🌿 Horticulture
Students recently visited the North Carolina Zoo for a behind-the-scenes tour! They learned how the zoo’s horticulture team uses its specialized knowledge of plants from rainforest species to desert succulents to keep the exhibits healthy, beautiful, and naturally wild for the animals. On September 11, WPCC celebrated the grand opening of its new Emergency Services Training Center! WPCC Regional Fire & Rescue Training

🚧 What’s going on in the new Cosmetology Building?!?!

The construction crew has been working hard on the plumbing! 🔧💧

Fun fact: Not all water is the same. Well water comes from underground and may contain minerals such as iron, calcium, and magnesium. These minerals can affect hair by causing buildup, dryness, discoloration, or changes in how chemical services process.

Treated water is filtered and disinfected to help remove impurities and control bacteria, making it a more consistent and reliable choice for shampooing, color services, cleaning, and disinfecting. In a cosmetology setting, water quality plays an important role in maintaining healthy hair, achieving predictable service results, and keeping the salon safe.

We are so excited to see the progress and cannot wait to welcome everyone into our new space! Stay tuned for more updates! 💇‍♀️🖤

🦋✨ A LITTLE DOLLY WISDOM ✨🦋

It’s hard to believe it’s been a week since Dolly Parton gained her wings. 🤍

Dolly was an inspiration to so many, and she certainly left her mark on the beauty world. From the BIG hair and beautiful makeup to the rhinestones, nails and unforgettable style! Dolly was never afraid to be completely and unapologetically herself. 💄💇🏼‍♀️✨

But as much as we can admire the beauty on the outside, we believe one of the most beautiful things about Dolly was something that couldn’t be bought in a salon…

Her heart. ❤️

Her kindness, compassion, generosity and LOVE for others were bigger than any hairstyle, outfit or stage she ever stepped onto.

And that is something we hope to carry into our own Cosmetology Center.

We hope every student, coworker and client who steps through our doors feels welcomed, valued and cared for. Because cosmetology is about so much more than helping someone look beautiful. It’s about how you make people FEEL. 🩷

Dolly once said:
“If I have been an inspiration in any way through some act of kindness… that makes me feel like I have done my job properly.” Dolly Parton ✨

What a beautiful reminder for all of us.

Be kind. Love big. Make people feel beautiful. And always remember to share your smile! You never know who may need it that day. 🤍

You have to start somewhere… and this is where our new chapter begins!

Our construction crew has been working hard getting our new WPCC Cosmetology Center cleaned out and ready for the transformation to begin! There may be exposed ceilings, empty floors, and a little construction dust right now, but we can already picture what this space is going to become. 🤍🤍
