FULL MOON CLASS on MONDAY! 2 pm Central

A total lunar eclipse will occur Nov. 8, with the moon turning blood red as it slips into Earth’s shadow. It will be the last total lunar eclipse until 2025.

Flower Moons, Blue moons, Harvest moons, Worm moons? In this class we will find out more about the ancient names associated with the phases of the Moon - and what they mean. We will pay special attention to the full moon occurring this month. During this class we will discuss why the moon has phases and learn about how the moon orbits the earth and the earth orbits the sun. Using a second camera and models, I will demonstrate for students the lunar cycle as students learn to identify the phases of the moon: the new moon, the waxing crescent, first quarter, waxing gibbous, full moon, waning gibbous, last quarter, and the waning crescent. Finally, through guided illustration we will draw the lunar cycle together and create a representation of the moon's journey around the Earth. Students will be encouraged to share any prior knowledge, ask questions throughout class, and finally, share their illustrations and what they learned at the end of class. Students will receive handouts before class that may be printed and used to enhance the learning. However, this is not required. After class students will receive another set of handouts that may be used to review and reinforce the learning at home!

Provide gentle, nurturing care to our our youngest group, our infants. Facilitate the development of language, cognitive and fine motor, while engaging with babies in a loving and meaningful way. Provide routine care, diapering, feeding and assisted play with lots of talking and cuddling.
Background and qualifications will be discussed with each applicant.
Work with a team devoted to the best in child care. Come join us!

We are taking applications for a twos teacher. This position will require some background in early childhood development whether it be with experience or education. We have a great group of staff and kids, and are always looking for another special person to join our teaching team. The position is full time, Monday-Friday.
