Simtrainer’s family. Over the past couple of years we have held a memorial event in remembrance of my dad (Jeff). This year is going to have a slightly different look. We are super excited to announce that we have officially launched The Jeff Pedro Foundation. We have opened registration for the lunch fundraiser and bocce tournament. Date will be Saturday June 6th at the Sons of Italy Lodge in Kettering Ohio. All sponsorship info and registration details will be in the link below. Hope to see you there!

The Jeff Pedro Foundation was created to carry that belief forward — by funding scholarships, supporting youth programs, and giving back to the same communities Jeff served as a coach, police officer, and mentor.

SimTrainer Family,

It is with a heavy, yet full heart that I’m writing. In spite of our best efforts, we are unable to sustain operations of SimTrainer. Several factors mean we’ve been operating at a significant loss for an extended period. This has forced our hand.

How can my heart be full?
•All of us at SimTrainer and the Pedro family owe you a big thanks. It’s you who have made it all worth it and brought so much fun, friendship, and responsible shooting to our doorstep and into our lives. So many of you have invested and contributed so much. All I can do is say thank you. That doesn’t suffice, but will have to do for now.

Why else?
•I am so honored to have had the privilege of extending what Jeff did over the four years since his death. From my first interaction with him in 2009, to the last person that crosses the threshold, it has been nothing but fulfilling. In unmeasurable ways, so many of you have touched me, my family, the shooting community, and beyond. Again, thank you.

So what does this mean?
•We plan to close our doors once we finish the Spooky Shoot scheduled for 10/28. Until then, we will have normal hours and the normal league shooting schedule. The Spooky Shoot is now free of charge. Just bring ammo (clean fire if you have it, but it won’t be required if you don’t.) It will be a Halloween themed league night and small thank you! It will be our one last hurrah. You won’t want to miss it.
•The few of you who were signed up for classes through the remainder of the year will be refunded those fees. If you booked online, we will process those refunds. If you paid in person or over the phone, you will need to come in during normal hours so we can process the refund.
•We have a goal to be out of the building by the end of the weekend of 10/31. We may reach out to some of you for help in that effort. Reach out if you would like to help.

What about the inventory and items around the range?
•The remaining range guns will be available for purchase. Pam has a list of those. They will be processed on a first paid basis.
•We will sell all inventory possible. Stop by to see availability and pricing.
•There may be other items used in the business available. Stay tuned for additional information as we sort out the details of inventory and goods.

What’s next?
•Discussions are in process as to the possibility of a range and training business moving into the building. We will keep you posted on those developments.
