New material on the website!
I received a priceless gift from Doug Nahin and I am sharing it with all of Brother Camillus's students and friends. On the website we now have the lecture and meditation Brother C recorded sometime in the 1990's. If any of you have more information about that, please share!
On the "Audio" page there are 3 new links. One is for this digitized version of the cassette tape, and 2 pieces are from the 2007 meditation retreat at Mont La Salle. Enjoy!

Carol here, webmaster for Brothercamillus.com. It has been wonderful to read all your messages of love and to discover how Brother Camillus was important in your lives. I will continue the site for as many years going forward that it is in use so you may hear his voice, refresh your meditation skills, and maybe see some video. Hundreds of people currently use the site, from all over the globe. Many more have taken the time this week to explore the site. It was even used recently during a retreat for a group meditation.

I have had a request to create pages for the website where we can publish our tributes and our fun stories. To that end, I am happy to do that for you all. If you go to the Contact page there is an email where you can send your contribution. I will do my best to put up as many stories as you send. I am also seeking articles you have, or will, create about him.

This page will also keep going with announcements when new items are published. I appreciate your Shares. It helps us reach more of you whose lives have been blessed with knowing Brother Camillus. Be well, be happy, be better and better, by the Grace of God. And thank you in advance for your words.

DETAILS FOR A MASS OF THE RESURRECTION ON JUNE 9: All are welcome to join the Brothers in the Mass of Resurrection at Saint Mary’s College Chapel on Friday, June 9, at 10 a.m.

Viewing begins at 8 a.m.

A reception in the Soda Center on the Saint Mary’s campus will follow the Mass from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Burial will take place at Mont La Salle, 4401 Redwood Road, Napa, at 3 p.m.

For those unable to attend in person, the Mass will also be livestreamed via Zoom beginning at 10 a.m. Pacific on Friday, June 9. You can pre-register at the link provided, after which you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the livestream.

It is with a sense of deep sadness that Saint Mary's College shares the news of the passing of Brother Camillus Chavez ’51, FSC this morning. For nearly half a century Brother Camillus was a beloved presence on our campus—as a professor, colleague, mentor, counselor, and friend. For generations of students, his spiritual, emotional, and academic impact has been profound.

From his return to campus in 1975, Brother Camillus quickly endeared himself to the Saint Mary’s community. He greeted longtime colleagues, new acquaintances, and passers-by alike with a blessing or a joyful fist bump. For nearly 30 years, he led individual meditation sessions and weekend workshops and retreats for students, faculty, alumni, and even parents. With every interaction, he welcomed others in a space of peace, tranquility, and belonging.

We’re forever grateful for the ways he has touched so many lives, here and around the globe. All are welcome to join the Brothers in the Mass of Resurrection at Saint Mary’s College Chapel on Friday, June 9, at 10 a.m.

With a broken and yet rejoicing heart, I have just learned that Brother Camillus passed peacefully into the Kingdom of God early this morning. Share now your love for him with each other, as we celebrate together all that he brought to our lives in joy, caring, and with forward looking faith. Bless you all, and all blessings to our newest Guardian Angel. - Carol

Many of you may have heard already that Brother Camillus is now in hospice care at Mont La Salle. He has received many visitors and can have only short visits. He is alert and well cared for. I am in awe of his continued grace as he prepares for his journey Home. Your prayers are felt. He is happy to hear that so many of you receive these messages and comment back with your good wishes. Let us remember...
