Thank you to everyone who joined us for CLAS this morning! It was a beautiful celebration of our Saklan community and a wonderful reminder of the light each of us brings to our school.

As we sang “This Little Light of Mine,” we were reminded to let that light shine, not just today, but throughout the year. May we continue to share our kindness, joy, curiosity, and compassion with one another and keep our lights shining bright!

Welcome back, Middle School! Our 6th–8th graders are back on campus after an incredible Advance—a three-day, two-night team-building experience designed to build connections, strengthen relationships, and challenge students to step outside their comfort zones.

We’re excited to have them home, hear about their adventures, and see all the new connections and memories they made along the way. Here’s to a fantastic year ahead!

A huge thank you to Dovetail Learning for leading our faculty and staff through a wonderful beginning-of-the-year retreat yesterday!

The retreat gave us time to reflect together, strengthen relationships, and think intentionally about how we can best support one another and our students in the year ahead.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to begin the school year connected, inspired, and ready to learn and grow together!

Please join us in welcoming Tausha Kordisch as Saklan’s first-grade teacher for the 2026–2027 school year!

Tausha is already a familiar face in our community, having supported Saklan as a substitute teacher and summer camp instructor. With more than 20 years of experience as a classroom teacher and educational leader, she brings a wealth of knowledge, warmth, and enthusiasm to her new role. We are thrilled to have Tausha join our faculty and look forward to an incredible year of learning, growth, and discovery in first grade!

We are also excited to share that Maria Puno will remain an important member of the Saklan faculty as she transitions into a new dual role as our K–2 Art Teacher and Support Teacher. Maria’s creativity, warmth, and big-hearted spirit will continue to enrich the lives of students across our campus.

We look forward to an exciting year ahead!
