We witness the difficulties students have with distance learning. The 29 % of failing grades in the first quarter is an increase of 10% in Bay Area high schools. The statistics
do not include Lamorinda schools, however

Online learning has multiple challenges
for students, teachers and parents.
The disappointments and anxiety
experienced by all three groups in 2020
cannot be dismissed. Before switching out of the district class and into a different online program, realize it will have its challenges and frustrations. Will it prepare the student for the following year in school? Is it just wanting to do something in all this helplessness?

I have experienced an outside online class.
Best learning occurs when students and teachers relate. The online experience is abstract and will require a lot of discipline
to learn.

Learning styles are important. We want engaged learners that can apply what they learn. This year’s challenge is to encourage that rather than getting it done.
