This year‘s Music in the Parks trip at Knott’s was a whirlwind!

The strings and wind ensembles had some fun at Knott’s Berry Farm after performing at the Music in the Parks competition at Valencia High School in Placentia. Each ensemble won first place in their respective divisions and both ensembles also won Best Overall in the competition! That’s a lot of trophies! Congratulations to the students and Mr. Carlon! Thank you to Mr. Carlon, Mr. Duchai, and the parent chaperones for making this year’s trip such a success!

Congratulations to Emily Yu on successfully auditioning and placing into the Ventura County Honor Orchestra for violin! Emily represented Chaparral and Moorpark as they
played high level literature such as "The Merry-Go-Round of Life" by
Joe Hisaishi and "Lujon" by Henry Mancini, among other songs. Seeing students enrolled in the music program succeed on a regional level is an inspiration!
