MSUM Choirs Stay updated on news from the MSUM choirs, including performances, recruitment, auditions, and other announcements. Solfire is also an auditioned ensemble.

Minnesota State University Moorhead is home to great choral music making. MSUM's choirs perform a variety of music styles and genres, and are open to singers of all levels and backgrounds. Concert Choir requires a brief audition to establish that a singer's skill level is consistent with a successful experience in the ensemble. The University Choir is not auditioned and requires no previous singing experience; singers of all ability levels are welcomed and encouraged to join!

Michael Atteberry is a junior at MSUM, studying Instrumental Music Education. He sings bass 2 in Dragon Choir, and their favorite part about choir is singing amazing repertoire and being a part of a fantastic community. Outside of music, Michael enjoys working as a resident assistant, playing board games, and playing trading card games. If Michael could give one piece of advice to incoming students, it would be: Do as many things as you can in college. Getting involved is crucial to your success in school. Try Everything! Along with that, continue to participate in music from high school. Music is a life long journey and is extremely fun and rewarding. Keep making music!

Eva Weigel is a freshman at MSUM studying Speech Language Hearing Sciences. She sings soprano in Sky Singers, and her favorite part about choir is finally getting to sing again after not having a music teacher for three years! Outside of music, Eva enjoys her job as a firefighter, spending time with her family, and thrifting. Her dream job is to be in a worship band.

The MSUM Dragon Choir just finished up their tour to New York City this week. They were invited to preform at Carnegie Hall under the direction of Dr. Catherine Sailer. This trip was one for the books and we are so grateful for all the opportunities we had this school year.
