The Straw Hat Players are returning for 2022! This year will leave you doubling over with laughter with each winter-themed musical. ❄️🌨️

For the first musical "How to Talk Minnesotan" enjoy an evening with Ed and Lucy Humde in the Lost Walley Lodge as they, with their friends, present a series of lessons and songs on living and talking Minnesotan. The musical will be running from May 31 to June 2 in the Hansen Theatre.

It with heavy hearts that we join the MSUM School of Performing Arts in reporting the passing of Mike Coats.
Mike was a gifted musician and engineer. He was also an early pioneer in creating a foundation to what has become the Entertainment Industries and Technology program here at MSUM. Rest In Peace, Mike.

The MSUM School of Performing Arts is saddened to learn of the passing of Professor Michael Coates, a distinguished alumnus of Moorhead State, former guitar professor and director of the Music Industry (Commercial Music) program during the 1990’s. After retiring from performing in 2020 due to declining health, he began to create a website collating his many outstanding creative projects into one publicly accessible location, including video and audio recordings of his ensembles at MSUM.
