It's very sad to hear the passing of our former advisor Charles Munene Mugi from complications of Covid-19 infection. He was very passionate about Africa and Africans and the lifestyle he lived reflected that. Our condolences to his family and friends!

Dear ESA family,

I don’t know if you’re aware of the news IAAF is removing 5k and 10k runs from diamond league. Diamond league is one of the most lucrative athletics competitions and this is really bad news for Ethiopian and Kenyan athletes!

Please join us signing a petition to ask IAAF World Athletics Club to keep 5k and 10k in IAAF Diamond League!

You will be missed Fanu!

It was a powerful evening of reflection at the vigil for Fanuel Asrat, the Minnesota State University Moorhead student who drowned in the Red River this past summer. During the memorial, the Fanuel Asrat Scholarship was officially introduced. Also, Helina, Asrat's sister was on hand to accept Fanuel's degree.

The budget application for the next fiscal year is due on Dec 16th. Can you all contact me if there are events that we are planning to have? And the estimated expenses and the amount of expected incomes from the events if there will be any?
