Saturday, November 29, 2025, is the 50th anniversary of the original Education for All Handicapped Children Act—which eventually evolved into the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA)—being signed into law. This legislation was enacted to ensure that every child with a disability has a right to free appropriate education in the least restrictive environment. Before President Ford signed the EHA into law in 1975, millions of students were denied access to public education for growth and success. MAPS values and celebrates the tireless efforts of our Special Services staff for their support of all students with disabilities! ⚖️
