Concordia College has received a $6 million commitment from John ’66 and Eileen (Sletten) ’68 Quello of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, to establish the Quello Institute for Music and Creative Arts.

The $6 million commitment is the largest gift dedicated to the arts in the college’s recent history. Building upon a strong tradition of artistic excellence, the Quello Institute will support students and faculty, foster innovation and collaboration across disciplines, and elevate the visibility and impact of the arts throughout the campus and community.

What traces do humans leave behind them on the environment and other organisms, how can artists translate and advocate for scientific research, and how might biological processes inspire printmaking methods?

These are just a few of the questions addressed by artist and educator Terry James Conrad’s upcoming “Glissandos and Soothsayers” exhibition, which runs Tuesday, Oct. 6 through Monday, Nov. 16, at Concordia College’s Cyrus M. Running Gallery.

Memorial Auditorium renovations complete after official ribbon cutting! Faculty, students, and donors filled Memorial Auditorium on Saturday, Sept. 12, during Cobber Fest at Concordia College for the official ribbon cutting of Memorial Auditorium. The ceremony marked the completion of extensive renovations to the building, which has been around since 1952.

The community is invited to celebrate Concordia College’s 2026 Homecoming Thursday, Oct. 8, through Sunday, Oct. 11, at multiple locations on and off-campus.

The week, themed “Boot Scootin’ & Cobb Rootin’,” includes numerous events geared toward Concordia alumni — class reunions, tours, and banquets for the Alumni Achievement Awards and Athletic Hall of Fame Awards — as well as a number of community events open to the public.
