Broadway Masterclass: Acting Through Song with Tanner James
Date & Time: March 24, 2026, 7:00 PM Eastern Time (US and Canada)
Host: Evan Little
Zoom Meeting Link: Join Here
Meeting ID: 857 0742 1322 | Passcode: 587571

Participant & Observer Instructions

To ensure the highest quality experience for everyone, please follow these technical guidelines:

• Device Setup: All participants must use a laptop for the Zoom meeting. Mobile devices often compress audio in a way that makes singing difficult to hear.
• Accompaniment: Please play your backing track on a separate device (such as a phone connected to an external speaker).
• Audio Balance: Do not play the track from the same laptop running Zoom. This allows us to hear the proper balance between the music and your voice.
• Material: Please have 16-32 bars (45–75 seconds) of your song ready to perform.
• Observers: You are encouraged to keep your cameras on to create a "live" feel for the performers and are invited to participate in the Q&A at the conclusion of the coaching.

Masterclass Agenda

I. Welcome & Introductions (7:00 PM)
• Introduction to Evan Little: Background on Evan’s career and the mission of Evan Little Arts Services (ELAS).
• Introduction to Tanner James: A deep dive into Tanner’s professional credits and his approach to storytelling through music.

II. Coaching Sessions
Each student will begin with a brief interview with Evan to discuss their background and goals before performing. Tanner will lead the acting coaching, with Evan providing supplemental vocal technique tips.
1. Evan Little — "It's Too Late" by Carole King
2. Kelly Kudlik — "The Beauty Is" from The Light in the Piazza
3. Maddox Ayres — "You're Welcome" from Moana
4. Jaxon Ayres — "Heather" by Conan Gray
5. Mike Mags — "Not While I'm Around" from Sweeney Todd

III. Closing & Special Offer
• Final Thoughts: Evan will offer a congratulatory wrap-up and general advice for the group's singing health and career longevity.
• The ELAS Offer: Every participant tonight receives a free 30-minute 1:1 repertoire coaching session with Evan Little to further refine their book.

IV. Open Q&A (Approx. 8:40 PM)
• An open floor for participants and observers to ask Tanner and Evan questions about the industry, acting technique, or vocal health.

Meet your next Broadway coach 🎭✨

We’re so excited to introduce Tanner James, who will be leading our upcoming Broadway Masterclass: Acting Through the Song on March 24 at 7pm (Zoom) with EL Artist Services, LLC.

Tanner is a theatre artist, writer, and educator working between NYC and Kentucky, with a BFA from The Hartt School. He’s performed around the world with Disney Cruise Line as the Duke of Weselton in Frozen: A Musical Spectacular, and his regional credits span Hartford Stage, Goodspeed Opera House, and Wagon Wheel Center for the Arts.

Beyond the stage, Tanner is a passionate educator—teaching at Kentucky’s Governor’s School for the Arts and studios across Northern Kentucky—and is currently developing his first play, Hold Me Through This.

If you’re ready to go deeper than just “singing the notes” and truly tell the story through your music, this is the room you want to be in.

I’m standing on a yoga ball in this video, trying to find my core and keep my legs engaged, and honestly? I’m just trying to breathe. 🧘‍♀️✨

Singing “Till I Hear You Sing” for the first time was a mountain I wasn’t sure I was ready to climb. But when I finished that last note and the room went quiet, my teacher of seven years looked at me and said it was the best she’s ever heard me sing. I almost lost it.

Seven years is a long time. She’s seen me at my absolute best and my most broken, both on stage and off.
I remember that very first lesson. I knew instantly she was the mentor I needed to become a professional, but the reality was... I couldn’t afford her. I was heartbroken. But she saw something in me and offered me a lifeline. We made a deal: I’d help her organize her home, pull weeds in her yard, and spend my Decembers wrapping her Christmas presents in exchange for her time and expertise.

She’s been the phone call I make when life gets heavy and one of the first people I text when I book a gig.

When I started EL Artist Services, I didn’t just want to build a business that taught voice, dance, or acting. I wanted to build a home for students who need a champion. I want to be the mentor who sees your “spark” before you do. Whether we’re prepping for a college audition, coaching your career, or just finding your voice for the first time, I’m here for the long haul.

I want to be for my students exactly what she has been for me: a teacher, a mentor, and a constant reminder that your dreams are worth the work. 🎭🎶
