Northwood Elementary School

Later this morning, Northwood Elementary School will be conducting a lockdown drill. These drills are required by the State of Indiana under Indiana Code 20-34-3-20. During the drill, students will be asked to sit quietly in a small area of the classroom while the lights are turned off. Students and families are aware this is a drill only.
Please visit our School Safety webpage for Standard Response Protocol Information for Parents and Guardians as well as our Safety Information Video about how Standard Response Protocol is practiced and utilized in various situations.
The Mooresville Schools Police Department coordinates with local emergency responders whenever these drills are conducted. Please be aware that there may be emergency vehicles outside of the building as part of the drill only.

Today was a bittersweet day as we congratulate Miss Janet on her retirement. She has been caring for our students, staff, and school for many years and her bright smile in the morning will absolutely be missed! Thank you so much, Miss Janet, for everything you’ve done for the Northwood family, and just like Ella said in her wonderful note, we all wish you the best in your next “advencher”!
