🎳💙 Building Connections Beyond the Kitchen! 💙🎳

Before the start of another busy school year, our School Nutrition managers, assistants and Office team took some time to connect, laugh, and enjoy an evening together!

Our team enjoyed a fun night of bowling as we welcomed new team members, strengthened relationships, and celebrated the amazing people who make our department special.

School Nutrition is more than meals — it’s about teamwork, support, and the people behind the scenes who make it all happen every day.

We’re excited for the year ahead and grateful for this incredible team! 💙✨

📚✨ Trainings Underway! ✨📚

This past week, our School Nutrition team had the opportunity to learn, grow, and prepare for another successful school year!

Our managers and assistants participated in valuable trainings featuring some amazing speakers:

🌱 Andrea Sherrill from NC Cooperative Extension shared knowledge and resources to support our team.
💆‍♀️ Rita Garnto from Simple Self-Care by Rita reminded us of the importance of taking care of ourselves so we can continue taking care of others.
⭐ Dr. Royal from our Executive Team shared insight and encouragement as we get ready for the year ahead.

We are thankful for the time, knowledge, and support each speaker brought to our team. Continued learning helps us grow stronger together and ensures we are ready to provide the best experience possible for our students.

This week, members of our School Nutrition team had the incredible opportunity to attend the School Nutrition Association Annual National Conference (ANC) in Charlotte! 🍎✨

We spent time learning, connecting, and growing alongside other school nutrition professionals from across the country. From exploring innovative products and new ideas in the industry to gaining valuable insights on improving kitchen operations and strengthening our leadership skills, our team brought back so much knowledge and inspiration.

Professional development is an important part of what we do because when we continue to learn and grow, we are better equipped to serve our students and our schools. We are excited to put these new ideas into action and continue raising the standard of excellence in our kitchens!

Thank you to everyone who made this experience possible. We can’t wait to share what we learned! 💚🍽️

📚🍎 Our Final Week of Summer Feeding is Here! 🍎📚

As we head into the final week of our Summer Feeding Program at Park View Elementary, we want to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the children who have joined us this summer—and a special thank you to the parents, grandparents, caregivers, camp leaders, and community members who took the time to bring them each day. Your support helped make this program a success and ensured children had access to nutritious meals throughout the summer.

If you haven't stopped by yet—or would like to join us one more time—we'll be serving free meals through Thursday, July 10. While you're here, feel free to enjoy a book with your meal!

In observance of the upcoming holiday, our Summer Feeding Program will operate Monday through Wednesday this week. We will be closed on Thursday.
