Welcome our new art teacher, Aubrey Fuller
Hi everyone! I’m excited to join the EMIS family. I’m originally from Houston, Texas, but we spent five years in North Carolina while my husband was stationed at Fort Bragg, and both of our children were born there. After moving back to Texas to be closer to family, we would always talk about moving back to North Carolina, and now we finally are! (We missed it so much!)
Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my family, visiting the beach, exploring the mountains, and everything Disney! I’m looking forward to meeting everyone and becoming part of the EMIS community!

My name is Jackson Schaen and I am excited to join the EMIS team as the 3rd grade EC teacher. I am a graduate of Appalachian State University where I earned a bachelors degree in Special Education in the General Curriculum. I am a second generation MGSD graduate and a third generation MGSD employee. I attended EMIS for 4th through 6th grades. Some of my favorite things are 90s country music and classic rock, Cincinnati Bengals Football (Who Dey!), going to the beach, traveling, Mexican food, Epic Chophouse, and spending time with my family and friends. Having the privilege of student teaching at EMIS, I am excited to officially join the team as an employee and start my career with top notch educators.
Yesterday we said “See you later” to our 5th grade students! 🎓🦅
Ms. Corbett and Ms. Garrett, our 2026 retirees, proudly led the way as Grand Marshals for our annual 5th grade clap out. We are so proud of all our students and wish them the very best as they begin their middle school journey. Once an Eagle, always an Eagle! 💙💛

On Friday, our ELA Homeroom students proudly presented their Gateway projects! Each student selected an inventor to research, wrote a detailed paper, created a timeline of key events, and designed a model representing their invention. They wrapped it all up with impressive presentations—great job, ELA classrooms!
We’re excited to see what our Math Homeroom students will showcase today!
