Many of you have asked over the past year about the future of the animals at Montessori Seeds of Education.
Our goats, chickens, and mini horses were much more than animals on a school property. They were part of our children's daily learning experiences, helping them develop responsibility, empathy, confidence, and a connection to the natural world.
As many know, we were required to remove the animals from campus due to a zoning and legal dispute. Since then, we have explored every reasonable path toward bringing them back.
At this point, we need approximately $14,000 simply to retain legal counsel and continue pursuing a solution. As a small nonprofit school, this is a significant expense.
I have decided that this summer will be our final fundraising effort for this cause. If we are unable to raise the necessary funds by the end of August, I will likely have to accept that bringing the animals back is no longer possible.
If the animals were meaningful to your child, your family, or our school community, I respectfully ask that you consider making a contribution or sharing this post. Every donation helps.
Thank you to everyone who has supported us, encouraged us, and believed in the value of giving children these unique experiences.
