Washington D.C. day 7 was a very somber day. We visited the Arlington Cemetery and visited a special person and paid tribute to them. We were able to see the changing of the guard for the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, visited the Military Women’s Memorial and paid tribute to Mr. Muller’s Mother, walked all over the National Mall (where we were able to), and finished off with visiting the Holocaust Museum. It was a fairly heavy day for all of us, but the ability to read and educate ourselves even more and to pay tribute is something we each will carry with us forever.

Day 6 of Washington D.C. was a day full of anticipation and excitement and some bittersweet moments. The BIGGEST Congratulations goes to Miss Baily Lawellin for getting Silver in her STAR Event! We are so incredibly proud of her! 👏 👏 👏 NLC had their closing session and then for the remainder of the day, the girls just partied it up at the NLC Afterparty! 🪩 🎉

Day 5 of Washington DC was full of SO MANY things for us! We started off our day with heading on the metro to go see our Nation’s Capitol, the Supreme Court, the House of Representatives, and everything else that includes Capitol Hill! We ventured on into the Botanical Gardens where we were surrounded by gorgeous displays and plants and flowers. They had a beautiful exhibit of all of the State Flowers too! We also got to see some beautiful and famous works of Art at the National Gallery of Art. Lots of fan-girling was happening. And to finish off a very long day of walking, we watched the FCCLA Fashion Show and saw several beautiful works made by students from all over the country. ❤️🤩 🇺🇸 🌟

Day 4 of Washington D.C.!!!! Baily Lawellin competed in her STAR Event for Teach or Train! Once finished, we took a trip over to the Smithsonian Museum of American History. A few more metro stops later, we arrived in Chinatown to see the Friendship Arch and to have a celebratory dinner for the girls being finished with their responsibilities as a competitor and a voting delegate. We averaged around 17,000 steps! 🤪 🌟 🇺🇸 ❤️

Day 3 of DC included more intense debates and discussions for Katelyn Singhisen as a voting delegate, lots of bagels, and finishing off with a Baseball Game watching the Washington Nationals vs the Houston Astros!!! A little bit of rain didn’t stop us from being prepared with our emergency ponchos! 🤩 🇺🇸 ✨ ❤️

Katelyn Singhisen started her journey with being a National Voting Delegate for Oklahoma, Subway rides, Breakfast at a Michelin Rated Restaurant, and our first State Meeting until Opening Session!!! 🎉 🌟 🇺🇸
