Yesterday, we explored the stories behind the silent K and silent W. Today, let’s continue the journey!

Why is the B silent in lamb? What happened to the GH in night? These “silent” letters are actually fascinating clues to the history of the English language.

Every spelling has a story—and understanding those stories helps students become stronger readers, writers, and spellers.
