A yearbook is a lot like a charcuterie board. A little bit of this, a little bit of that, all thoughtfully arranged to create something greater than the individual pieces.

For Fun Friday, Mrs. Miller’s yearbook class traded layouts for layers, and put the elements of design into practice with charcuterie boards. Alignment, balance, hierarchy, contrast, proximity, and repetition all came together in the most delicious way possible.

Turns out, whether you’re designing a yearbook spread or a snack board, it’s all about how the pieces come together! 🍪🍩🍭

Meet the newest members of Coding class!
In Mr. Parets’ Upper School Coding class, students are learning that sometimes the best way to solve a coding problem is to simply… talk it out.

Enter: the rubber duck 🐤

With rubber duck coding, students explain their thought process out loud, work through challenges, and even catch mistakes along the way, all with a judgment-free coding buddy listening in.

Recently, students adopted their own ducks, gave them names, and snapped a selfie with their new coding companions.

Because every coder needs a good listener.

Recently, Montverde Academy Middle School student Lukas Violette competed in the UIM MotoSurf World Championship in Marbella, Spain, earning a 2nd-place overall finish in the Junior Boys class.🏄

The event marked the first World Championship round ever held in Spain, taking place at El Lago Club at Real de la Quinta. Competing against an international field representing countries including Spain, Czech Republic, Austria, Macau, China, Kuwait, Turkey, and Sweden, Lukas won each of his heat races before finishing second overall.

It was a strong and consistent weekend of racing and another step forward in Lukas' racing career.

The Marbella round marked Lukas' final race of 2026. He'll be back on the water when the 2027 season kicks off in the spring. Great job, Lukas! ⭐

Mrs. Volpe’s Middle School scientists designed their own experiments, tested hypotheses, identified variables, collected data, and turned their results into graphs and evidence-based conclusions.

A fresh coat of paint, a meaningful day of service, and a community coming together at Habitat for Humanity Lake Sumter.

Recently, Montverde Academy students helped give the Jackson home in Eustis a fresh new look through the City of Eustis Repair Program. The program helps fund critical repairs and improvements for local homeowners, making projects like this possible.

“We had an outstanding day with the Montverde Academy Youth Impact Development group,” said the Habitat for Humanity site manager. “It’s definitely the best youth group that we’ve ever had. We got three times more done than I thought we would!”

We’re proud of our students for putting their time and effort toward a project that makes a meaningful difference, and grateful to the City of Eustis for the opportunity to serve our neighbors.

A first grade idea worth saving: Turn math review into a Math Hospital. 🧮🩹

Mrs. Tieder’s first grade classroom became a pharmacy, diagnostic lab, research lab, and emergency room, with each station focused on a different math skill.

The result? Students were practicing, problem-solving, and preparing for their assessment, but it felt a lot more like an experience than a review.

A good reminder that sometimes, a creative theme and a few purposeful stations are all it takes to make familiar skills feel new again.

And yes, the emergency room was everyone’s favorite! 🚨

Senior year is officially underway, and the Class of 2027 kicked it off with two days full of memories, meaningful moments, and a little friendly competition.

From senior breakfast, advisory games, and prom theme voting to hearing from Kristi Hujik about the Capacity Ecosystem and how we can build the awareness, resilience, and support systems needed to thrive, the retreat was all about celebrating the year ahead.

Seniors made a splash at Island H2O, came together for a Build-A-Bike community service project, raced bikes in the Tower Loop, and celebrated senior traditions with T-shirt designs, superlatives, and more.

The weekend wrapped up with seniors painting their parking spaces, leaving their mark on campus as they begin their final year together.

Here’s to a memorable senior year, Class of 2027! 🦅
