SW Permaculture

SW Permaculture The SW Permaculture team teaches and consults ecological design aimed for sustainable living located in the western slope of the Rockie Mountains of CO.

The SW Permaculture team is dedicated to sharing and teaching as well as consulting and designing permaculture influenced systems. Patricia Frazier has grown vegetables, fruits, herbs, milk and eggs at the Peace and Plenty Farm for 13 years in Hotchkiss, CO. Pat is the president of the board of directors of the Josephine Porter Institute for Applied Biodynamics. Kris Holstrum has operated the Tomt

en Farm at 9,000 feet in Telluride, CO. She has also been the Executive Director of Eco Action Partners and the South West Institute for Resilience. Wind Clearwater operates an edible landscaping business, operates the farm Oasis which is a developed edible forest. Ian Oster has run the nonprofit Mountain Roots Food Project, operating 8 urban gardens, and is involved in edible landscaping. Together we provide a comprehensive perspective pulling from different experiences and skills. We offer one PDC each year with one week in Teluride and the other week in Hotchkiss. We also offer workshops periodically and have consulted various projects from gardens to community farms. We believe that sustainable development is more than permaculture; we try to incorporate various threads of thought such as holistic land management, biodynamics, ZERI systems, and more.

Our Permaculture Design Course is hosted on three farms in the high altitude rocky mountains. You get to experience a juniper pinon dryland farm, a 9,000 ft. altitude farm, and one nestled in a spring filled canyon!
