**Shavano Conservation District Remembers Fred Miller**
The Shavano Conservation District extends our deepest condolences to
the Miller family on the passing of Fred Miller.
Fred’s name and legacy are woven deeply into the history of the
Shavano Conservation District. For more than three decades, he gave
his time, knowledge, and leadership to the District, including many
years serving as Board President.
Fred understood that conservation was about more than projects and
programs. It was about caring for the land, supporting agriculture,
protecting our natural resources, and leaving something of value for
the generations that follow. He brought that understanding to his
service with a practical, steady, and thoughtful approach.
His connection to the District was also part of a remarkable family
legacy. Across three generations, the Carlson-Miller family
contributed to conservation efforts in our community. Fred carried
that legacy forward with great dedication, helping build upon the work
of those who came before him.
Those of us serving the Shavano Conservation District today are
grateful for the foundation Fred helped build. The conservation work
we continue is connected to the commitment of people like Fred who
gave so much of themselves to their land, their community, and the
future.
We are honored to have had Fred as a member and leader of our Board.
His service, wisdom, and dedication will be remembered, and his legacy
will continue through the conservation work he cared about so deeply.
Our thoughts and deepest sympathies are with the Miller family during
this difficult time.
