Great news! It’s official, school meals will be free for all Vermont students next year.

Two bills signed by Gov. Scott Tuesday will create a one-year pilot program offering free meals to every student and will ban offensive mascots in schools.

Free Summer meals will be available at UES starting this Wednesday. Pick up a breakfast and a lunch at the cafeteria side door from 11-11:30. Free to all kids 0-18. Kids do not need to be present to receive a meal.

If you have experienced a change in household income I encourage you to submit a free school meals application. There are a number of benefits to being approved for free meals.

Montpelier Roxbury Public Schools is proud to provide meals for students during this time, but we need your help to ensure we can continue to offer free meals to all children through the summer months. If you didn’t submit a school meal application for this year, or if your finances have recently changed, please complete and return the application found on our website.

Please also remember to fill out the anonymous food needs surveys found on this same web page each week so that the team can gauge how many meals to prepare.
