Look what's happening in April!!

We’re thrilled that Lily Brooks-Dalton, the author of our Vermont Reads 2025 book "The Light Pirate" and "Good Morning, Midnight" will visit Vermont on April 10 and 11 as part of Vermont Reads!

She'll give a free public talk at the Fletcher Free Library in Burlington at 2:00 pm on Saturday, April 11. Seating for this in-person talk is limited, so register now to reserve your spot! You can also view the event via live stream.

Read the newly updated version of our position statement The Students’ Right to Write, featuring the latest thinking and research to support NCTE members with best practices and guidance on this vital ELA education issue: https://ncte.org/statement/the-students-right-to-write/

The statement lists NCTE's beliefs regarding writing and the rights of student writers of all ages and includes recommendations for educators to support them.
