Happy Wednesday and Happy Homecoming week to everyone!

Just wanted to give a quick announcement to come visit the Library and view our Homecoming display that will be up through the rest of this week and the weekend's activities.

We would also like to mention that if any individual would like to possibly donate any Arkansas A&M/UAM apparel or memorabilia to the Library's Special Collections, feel free to reach out to us directly or to Alumni Affairs for information on how to do so. Go Weevils!

With the end of September and the beginning of October being Hispanic Heritage Month, we wanted to honor the observance with this historical display that we have in the Library that looks back to a contingent of Latin American students that came to UAM in the 1940's and 1950's, whose choice to come during that time period helped paved the way for future students from Central and South America to come to UAM for their studies as well.
These Latin American students in the display who studied here at UAM would also go on to be a critical part of UAM's legacy for welcoming any international students overall to SE Arkansas for their secondary education.
Feel free to come by the Taylor Library and view this display in person, and the alumni being highlighted.

#32 - The Weevil ReWind

Happy September and upcoming Labor Day Holiday to everyone!

It has been a good summer break for the Special Collections, but we are now back to our weekly "Rewind" postings with a new format and an updated name! So "The Rewind" series will now be called "The Weevil ReWind" moving forward, and as you can see below, we are going to start sharing our postings as short-form videos for everyone to enjoy and share!

So hopefully you will enjoy the video postings for this academic year ahead and as always, feel free to like and/or comment about the content of the videos below.

With the start of classes today for all students and the general hum of the Library returning back to normal levels, we wanted to post a quick shout-out to our Library Staff members here for helping with the move-in of students this past Saturday morning at Bankston Hall. Being a cheerful presence for the new students with their parents as they arrived, our Library staff helped them get setup with their dorm room assignments and UAM cards. We hope these new students find their way over to the Library and visit with our excellent staff again very soon!

Happy Juneeteeth from UAM Special Collections!

We wanted to highlight the UAM Library display about the holiday today, sharing some books out of the Collection that reflect on the memory, the celebration, and the people that Juneeteeth represents. From the beginnings of the US until now, the book titles on display provide some different perspectives on those themes and how that comes together to represent Freedom Day. Feel free to come by the Library and take a closer look at these books that are avaliable. Enjoy the holiday weekend!
