Today's Friday Feature is an MAEF grant awarded to Mrs. McCool last Spring. Because of generous sponsors and succesful funraising events, the foundation provided some Zuma chairs for students from kindergarten through third grade in the general education classroom, resource room, and sensory room. These chairs have been a huge hit for students by allowing them to move their bodies to increase their focus and allow them to learn more effectively. The teachers love that they are able to be utilized in different environments to meet our student's needs.

MAEF is excited to share that we have opened a Fall Mini Grant opportunity for our teachers! Grant applicants can submit requests for innovative, unique, and special educational activities to enhance the learning and experiences for our students. Featured below is a picture of Spring Grant recipient, Korry Moyer's, new cabinets in the Washington Art Room. She shared that due to this grant, she and her students are able to navigate the classroom and supplies more effectively leading to more art adventures and opportunities.

GRANT SPOTLIGHT - Washington School social worker, Hayes Murray, knows the positive benefits of sand trays and wanted her students to have the opportunity to use them. With the help of a MAEF grant, her students now have access to sandplay on a daily basis. We are happy to be able to award these grants through fundraisers and sponsorships. Grants like these help us continue our mission of enhancing the experiences for our students in all areas of their education!

GRANT SPOTLIGHT! Pictured here are students from Mrs. Allen's 5th grade class building and coding robots. These robots were purchased through an MAEF grant to enhance the STEM opportunities and experiences for the students in our district. Thanks to generous donors and fundraisers, like our Reverse Raffle Event in February, the Monticello Area Education Foundation is able to award teacher grants each Spring!

WOW! We had an INCREDIBLE night raising funds for our foundation to support our schools at our first ever reverse raffle! There are SO many businesses and people to thank for helping to make this happen. Our board is extremely grateful for all the support and commitment to our cause. In the end, Chase Coleman and our DJ/Emcee, Diane Ducey from ESPN 93.5, decided to split the grand prize - each taking home $1,100. We are excited to see how much was raised for scholarships, tutoring, and teacher grants, but most of all we hope that everyone who attended had fun too!
