First day of school was a success! 😁

I love how you can see the adorable kids, of course, but also the super proud moms in the reflection too. 🥰

We need leaders - 18+, student workers - 14+, and a coordinator!

Please join us in prayer for the upcoming school year!- AKA the year we build an intergenerational playground with PCNH 😁🤩

We had supply drop off/meet the teacher this morning and it was a wonderful time! We welcome students for the first day of school tomorrow - Wednesday, 8/19!

We thank God for His many blessings and pray that MCA would be a blessing to many as well. ❤️

Summer Care 2026 wraps up today. It’s bittersweet for sure! Gratitude for a successful summer season, sadness as some students & employees move on to other things, and excitement for the upcoming school year.

Our first day of school for the 2026/2027 school year is Wednesday 8/19. ✏️✂️📚

Summer Care had a busy final week…
-A lemonade stand and water day last Friday 8/7. They raised $626 for the intergenerational playground! 🤩
-Intergenerational playground with Piatt County Nursing Home groundbreaking and excavation thanks to Vermeer Midwest! 🥰
-Lots of time over at PCNH - bingo twice + an end of summer party with games & popsicles! ☀️

-Aikman Wildlife with a presentation featuring some super cute animals this afternoon.

It’s a joy to do what we do and we thank everyone for your support of MCA and our mission to help kids learn and grow and know of God’s love for them. ☺️

August of 2020, we bought our building from Kirby on north State Street.
Almost immediately, a dream was born as we realized our next door neighbors would now be Piatt County Nursing Home.

An intergenerational playground… a space right outside where children and elderly can come together in meaningful, candid, fun ways. A blessing for multiple generations. Residents at PCNH who once were teachers, can soon look outside their window and see kids running, and laughing, and playing. Can you just imagine it now?!? 😍

Now, today - August 7th, 2026 -, the start of that dream is becoming a reality! 🙌

Bryce Shaffer & Vermeer Midwest are here today extremely graciously donating equipment, time, and labor towards our project. I’ll be sharing much more on that blessing soon! 🥰

But for today - all of these guys in the photo have been at MCA since we moved into 1109 N State and are getting to see this dream come to life! 🤩

We are blessed! 🫶
