State FFA Horse judging and NE Iowa FFA District Livestock judging today at Kirkwood CC.

Peytin Schultz led Ella Giegrich and Emily Leytem to 3rd Place finish in Iowa FFA State Horse Judging competition while placing 3rd as an individual!

Harper Russell and Kylee McElmeel participated in the NE District Livestock evaluation placing 17th and 46th respectively as individuals!

Congratulations Dairy Judging Team!

The members of this team were Reagan Stoll, Sydney Sparks, Adley Rahe, and Roth Schnoor.

The team received a gold rating along with placing 13th overall. The big savior of today was Adley Rahe, getting 7th place as a overall individual!

Over the past couple of days 30 members attended the 98th annual Iowa State FFA Leadership Conference. We arrived in Ames Sunday afternoon and enjoyed a meal at Hickory Park with a few of our alumni that are at Iowa State.

Monday morning 19 members enjoyed a tour of Jack Trice Stadium as well as the indoor practice field. Learning about turf grass management and the care of athletic fields at Iowa State University.

Later that morning 10 members enjoyed a tour of the University Creamery. They learned how they go through the process of making ice cream and cheese on campus and then got to enjoy some of the ice cream.

Thank You for the knowledge and demonstration of grid sampling.

It was a great day for our Area Manager Staci Frommelt to walk through the importance of soil sampling and demonstrating how to pull quality samples with the Monticello FFA! Thank you to the group for sharing part of your day with us and special thanks to Chris Castek with Nutrien Ag Solutions - Hopkinton for bringing us along (and for taking the picture)!

Thank You to all of our program and project supporters, especially Monticello, IA Main Street, Monticello Give to Grow, and the National FFA Organization for support through project cooperation and grant funding to help us along with all of the Monticello Community members that have assisted or donated in some form.

The Governor’s STEM Advisory Council at the Iowa Department of Education is awarding 31 Iowa schools with a 2026-27 STEM BEST® Program award.
