Seeking reliable, detail‑oriented adults for weekday daytime barn chores. Perfect for stay‑at‑home parents, retirees, part‑time workers, or horse lovers who want quiet, meaningful work in a calm, structured environment.

🐴 Position: Daytime Barn Chore Staff
Hours: Flexible 2–3 hour shifts between 6 AM and 2 PM
Days: Monday–Friday (choose 2–5 days per week)
Pay: $16–$18/hr depending on experience
Start: Immediately

🧹 Responsibilities
Cleaning stalls (training provided)

Refreshing water buckets

Sweeping aisles

Light barn cleaning

Assisting with turnout (optional)

Basic horse handling (optional — we will train)

This is not a heavy‑lifting or fast‑paced job. It’s steady, predictable work in a friendly barn environment.

Part-Time Barn Hand –Weekdays
Swan River Stables in Monticello is looking for a dependable individual for horse turn out and stall cleaning. This is a hands-on role perfect for someone who loves being around horses and thrives in an active, outdoor environment.
Responsibilities include:
Horse grain feeding , turn out muck and bed 12'x12' stalls to maintain a clean, healthy environment.
Experience: Previous experience handling horses safely is preferred.
Physical Ability: Must be able to lift 50+ lbs (hay/shavings) and work on your feet in various weather conditions.
Shift is 4-5 hours.
Reliability: Our horses depend on us; consistent attendance is a must.

Our Fall Lesson Schedule is officially built — and we still have room for more riders!

Fall lessons begin September 1st, and we currently have availability for both private and group lessons.

Not sure which day, time, or lesson format will work best? Reach out! We’d be happy to help find an available spot that works for your rider and your schedule.

At Swan River, our lesson program is about more than just time in the saddle. Riders receive progressive, quality instruction focused on building confident, capable horsemen and women — with experienced instructors, wonderful lesson horses, and an emphasis on safety, horsemanship, and long-term development.

Congratulations to all of our riders for a wonderful season of hard work, growth, and great rides. We loved watching everyone progress throughout the year and are so proud of all that was accomplished.

✨ LADIES NIGHT — BUT MAKE IT HORSES 🐴

Maybe you’ve always wanted to learn to ride.

Maybe you rode when you were younger and have spent years saying, “Someday I’d love to get back into it.”

Maybe you’re just ready to have one night a week that’s for you.

This fall, we’re opening a Tuesday Night Adult Ladies Lesson as part of our weekly lesson program at Swan River Stables.

This group is designed especially for adult beginners and women returning to riding after years away. Come learn, build confidence, spend time with horses, and enjoy an evening at the barn with other women who are doing the same thing.

You don’t have to already be a “horse person.” You don’t have to be in shape, know how to tack up, or remember everything you learned twenty years ago.

You just have to finally decide that maybe this is the year you do something you’ve always wanted to do. 💙

Spaces will be limited for the Tuesday 7 PM group.
