We stand with the National Education Association Staff Union!
🚨BREAKING: NEA STAFF MEMBERS ARE ON STRIKE 🚨
Today members of the NEA Staff Union are on a ULP strike for union values. We do not want to interrupt the work we do for NEA members, but we believe that as employees of the nation's largest labor union, we have the responsibility to set an example and demand the type of employer we want for EVERY worker.
From the beginning, NEA leadership has shared misleading information about their proposals and the bargaining process directly with state leaders, other NEA managers, and with RA delegates. Earlier this week, we were forced to file two unfair labor practice complaints with the NLRB: one regarding violating our contract regarding overtime pay and one regarding failure to answer information requests as part of the bargaining process.
We have spent so much of our lives fighting for union values, to see them so blatantly disregarded has been a punch to the gut. If NEA management cannot uphold the union values of its members—NEASO will be there to remind them what union values look like. We hope you will join us on the picket line!
