Hey all!! There is NOT a community Open House tonight.
The community Open House date will be released at a later time.

Quick little update! We had our DCFS inspection and have passed! We are waiting for the DCFS Rep to write the narrative, send for approval and then issue our license. This typically takes ~2 weeks. However, he's let us know they are very short staffed and covering both Decatur and Bloomington offices. I am hopeful that he will deliver on the date and we can announce a firm opening date soon!!

Edited to add:

Once DCFS has done their narrative, we will open in phases. The initial phase will open 6 classrooms that are currently in operation as Ducky Daycare, the next phase will most likely be opening classroom by classroom as staff is hired. This will be a bit of a process and will take some time. We are looking for qualified staff that must be vetted prior to employment.

Update!!! The good news, DCFS received our application on December 10th. The not so good news, our rep will not review the application until after the new year since he is out of the office until then.

Next steps - once our application is reviewed and approved, our DCFS inspection will happen. THEN the State Fire Marshal will come. The last we heard, the Fire Marshal is out approximately 4-6 weeks.

Hopefully all the wheels will run at full speed soon after the new year and we can be in soon!

Not the BIG update everyone is hoping for but permit documents are in the mail!

Next steps!!!
1. The permit application paperwork being approved
2. DCFS inspection
3. Inspection from the State Fire Marshal

Sometimes these can happen quickly, sometimes they don't. We are optimistic for a quicker turnaround!

We still need gently used toys and educational items if anyone is interested in donating.
Our biggest needs are: ride on toys for outside, educational items such as blocks, counting toys, soft baby dolls, markers & crayons (these can be secondhand!), toddler toys for children 12-18mo and toys for 2-3 years old. Anything helps! We appreciate the support and help thus far!!!
