Day 3- Wednesday, June 17. Today was a very different day for all, as we had to make that difficult decision to close camp a few hours early, due to weather. However, it was a GREAT day at camp.
There was 10 horses in the Rockarena at one time!! I do not believe this has ever happened before. The horses were great, but our campers were ROCKSTARS!! They did great with all the horses in the arena at one time. We rode for about 1.5 hours, maybe a little longer. We learned how to steer the horses, how to 2-point, how to weave the poles, learned the importance of keeping space between our horse and the horse in front of us, and we learned how to trot. We also pretended to be veterinarians and learned the different markings and colors of some of the horses.
Even with the crazy weather, we had a great day. Thank you for being flexible with today's schedule.
I also want to send a huge THANK YOU to everyone who helped us in being able to build the indoor arena. Without your support, we would not have had the chance to do our camp activities today. It is appreciated more than you will ever know.
