We are honored to have had Makayla visit us this week. She embodies everything that Miss Hospitality stands for and more, and we are so proud to have her representing Lawrence County! ❤️

A huge thank you to Ms. Casey and everyone at Spectra Learning for welcoming me this week and helping me improve my speech and commercial. I truly appreciate the time, encouragement, and valuable feedback you shared with me. Your support and guidance have helped me feel even more prepared, and I am so grateful for the investment you made in me. Thank you, Ms. Casey, for taking the time to help me become a stronger and more confident speaker.

To wrap up a full week at Spectra, we held graduation for Raylea, Yamilet, and Ava. The day is always bittersweet, as we feel pride in their achievements and sadness because we will miss them dearly.

These 3 girls will succeed in whatever they choose to pursue because they all have an outstanding work ethic. I can’t wait to see what the future has in store for them as they head to college next year! ❤️

Yesterday, our 5th-12th grade students had their end-of-the-year presentation. Each student was given an Honest History book to use for research in order to become an expert on the topic they chose. The project consisted of 3 parts:
1) A trifold project board
2) A 3D element
3) A stamp designed to represent their topic

They worked for weeks on this project and finally got to present them to their family and friends yesterday. Although the project was individual, it was commonplace to look up and see students collaborating and helping one another with zero complaints. To say we are proud of them is an understatement. We push them hard on these final projects, refusing to lower our standards, and they always rise to the occasion, often exceeding our vision for what they will do. Although we will miss them, we hope they have a wonderful summer break (full of reading books, of course). ❤️

Our elementary kiddos had their end-of-the-year presentation this morning, and this year they made story boards that represented books. They wrote their literary elements before planning out a vision for their boards. After weeks of hard work, they finally got to present them to their families today, and they were VERY excited! 📚

I cannot stress enough how beneficial these annual end-of-the-year projects are for student development. Challenging them with a project this rigorous teaches them the value of hard work and perseverance. They learn to take constructive criticism and to push through hard tasks. They get to feel a deep sense of pride and accomplishment knowing they successfully completed a difficult task. My favorite part of the process was watching them all help one another. If a classmate needed manpower, they happily stepped up without hesitation. We are incredibly proud of every single one of them and hope they enjoy their summer break (although we will miss them dearly). ❤️
