Valiant Cross Academy

Valiant Cross Academy Valiant Cross Academy is an all-male school located in downtown Montgomery. We transcend the challenges facing young African American males.

Valiant Cross Academy is an all-male school that begin its first year with 6th grade boys in 2015. We are planning to add one grade each year until we have reached the 12th grade. The Academy is a private school with a Christian curriculum and will be located in West Montgomery, Alabama. Valiant Cross Academy is a school with an intentional culture of structure and discipline. The school will be governed by a board and under the administration of Anthony Brock as Principal and Frederick Brock as Director of Operations. We will have distinct uniforms, an effective consequence and award system, and an intense focus on the academic success of our scholars. Our academic program will include small class sizes, longer school days, double the math and triple the literacy time, differentiated instruction, Saturday School, aggressive tutoring, a daily after-school program, and a weekly chapel service. We felt compelled to start this school for males to address some of the clear challenges that plague our city and our nation. We believe with love, discipline, and a dedication to high expectations that all scholars can achieve. To give our scholars post-graduation options, we will place each one on a sound academic and vocational track. Our vision is to increase the literacy rate, attendance rate, and ultimately the graduation rate. Our long-term goal is to teach each one of our scholars the skills necessary to become lifelong learners and productive citizens.

Thanks to Starbase Advanced Maxwell, our scholars got an up-close look at drones while learning about the technology behind them and how they operate.

At Valiant Cross Academy, we believe education should expose scholars to more than what’s in a textbook. From STEM and emerging technology to real-world experiences, we’re making sure our scholars are learning, exploring, and preparing for what’s next.

Because the world is changing and we want our scholars ready for it.💡💙💛

Valiant Cross Academy was grateful to host Mental Health America in Montgomery for a meaningful workshop led by Dr. C. Smith of Alabama State University and several of his psychology students. Their tools and strategies for mental wellness and healthy communication made a lasting impact. Special thanks to Principal Dr. Clemons for her leadership and commitment to creating a supportive environment where students and staff can learn, grow, and succeed.

A little lunchtime competition never hurt anybody!
😂🥊

Our scholars took advantage of some fresh air during lunch with a little friendly competition and plenty of laughs before heading back inside and getting right back to business in the classroom.📚

A little movement, a lot of fun, and then back to learning. We love seeing our scholars enjoy moments like these throughout the school day!💙

Valiant Cross Academy measures success by the lasting impact on our young men, their spiritual formation and the paths they pursue after graduation. Since opening in 2015 and graduating our first class in 2022, our alumni have continued on to college, military service, and the workforce. Their journeys reflect the preparation, discipline, relationships, and belief we invest in them every day. This is the work, this is the impact, and these are the results that matter. From Valiant, You Can Go Anywhere.
