Coercive control makes leaving difficult- by design, not by accident.
It isolates, intimidates, financially restricts, monitors, manipulates, and chips away at a person's confidence until staying can feel safer-or more possible-than leaving. And even after separation, the control often continues through harassment, threats, legal abuse, stalking, or using children as leverage.

πŸ’œβœ¨ Community Health Fair 2026 βœ¨πŸ’œ

Today, McKinney Restorative Center had the opportunity to connect with community members, share resources, and raise awareness about child abuse, domestic violence, elder abuse, sexual assault, and human trafficking prevention.

Every conversation matters. Every resource shared matters. Every life touched matters.

Thank you to One Community Outreach United for creating a space where organizations can come together to educate, empower, and support our communities. We are honored to be part of the work.

Together, we can build safer, stronger, and more informed communities.

Reposting because this issue matters deeply to our communities and to the work we are building here in Alabama.

McKinney Restorative Center, 215 CrimeStoppers, NCMEC (National Center for Missing & Exploited Children), and partners within the Alabama Attorney General’s Office have been engaged in important conversations regarding vulnerable and missing children, human trafficking prevention, victim support, and coordinated community response efforts across our state.

We are grateful for the guidance, collaboration, and expertise shared as we work toward developing a Human Trafficking Task Force focused on education, awareness, reporting, victim-centered support, and stronger multidisciplinary partnerships throughout Alabama.
Protecting vulnerable children and supporting survivors requires all of us working together. This is only the beginning, but we are committed to doing the work.
