Happy 139th Birthday to the "school we love." Troy University was founded on Feb. 26, 1887 when an act of the Alabama Legislature established Troy State Normal School as an institution to train teachers for Alabama's schools.

After the MLK Day Parade concludes, stop by the Rosa Parks Museum and walk through the history that shaped the Civil Rights Movement.

Troy University's Rosa Parks Museum is celebrating Rosa Parks Day today and the 70th anniversary of the Montgomery Bus Boycott by offering free admission today through Dec. 5. Students from Montgomery's Dozier Elementary School toured the museum today and had the opportunity to check out the new exhibit "Rosa Parks: A Life of Being Rebellious," which will be on display through Dec. 19 in the museum's exhibit hall.
