In keeping with current mandates by the Alabama Board of Cosmetology & Barbering, Transitions Technical College, Inc. has decided to phase out all State Board Retest Programs as well as our Natural Hairstyling Certification Program.

Candidates will now have the ability to test an unlimited number of times until they pass both exams at 70%. The ABOBC has decided to discontinue issuing new licenses for Natural Hairstylists later this year.

Please note, we will continue to offer State Board Prep Tutoring Sessions and we encourage all graduates who have not completed testing for licensure as a Natural Hairstylist to do do before October 1st 2026.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!!! We are in search of 2 volunteers for a pixie quick weave demonstration. The first model is needed on Tuesday, May 26th 2026 at 5:45pm and the second at 9am on Wednesday, May 27th 2026. The hair of choice will be provided by the school and the service will be performed by a licensed instructor.

Our preferred models will have shoulder length or SHORTER relaxed or hair. Model’s hair MUST BE ABLE to mold down with ease. NO BRAID DOWNS!!!

If interested, please message us with your name, contact information, desired appointment time, and submit a recent picture of your hair in its natural state.

If you have served as a volunteer within the past 6 months you are ineligible to receive another complimentary service at this time. We will contact our volunteers beginning at 11am tomorrow morning. So inbox us your information ASAP!!!

Introducing myself.

Hi, my name is Rebecca and I’m 25 with a passion to help others and a deep passion for compassion and mental health. I was diagnosed with bipolar and BPD when I was 18 and struggled to remain mentally healthy throughout my highschool years. I was hospitalized when I was 22 and that changed my life forever for the better.

My deep passion for serving others comes from my love for the Lord and wanting to serve him with my life in surrender.

I grew up with a creativity and wanting to paint, draw and color with most of my time.

I didn’t think about nails until I sat at Chickfla with my friend and she suggested cosmetology school, I had no interest in hair because doing my own hair is exhausting, but I knew I could pour my creativity into nails.

I grew up with my dad telling me I could not attend school, I started saving on my own. I paid my way to school.

I grew up very conservatively until I was 12 and was able to express myself more authentically as I got older.

I want to serve the elderly, as I was close to my grandma growing up and my great aunt was a salon owner. I want to carry out my passion and love for her.

As I branch out in learning acrylics and building my own business I hope to help others in their mental health, listen to their problems and give them hope.

I hope to teach self care, and create good conversations. 💗

We’re on the lookout for some fabulous volunteers to help our talented Esthetics students practice their natural makeup application skills! Just a heads-up, these sessions won’t include lash applications. 💄

Here’s what we need:
- **Wednesday, May 6th:**
- 10 AM - 2 PM: 2 to 4 volunteers 😊
- 6 PM - 8 PM: 2 volunteers

- **Thursday, May 7th:**
- 10 AM - 2 PM: 3 to 6 volunteers 👍
- 6 PM - 9 PM: 2 volunteers

If you’re interested in being a part of this fun opportunity, just drop us a message or comment below with your name, the date, and the time that works best for you! Feel free to bring your own lashes if you’d like, or you can buy some from us. Each makeup application will be just $5 for our wonderful volunteers. 💖
