As we welcomed 15 new students this month, we are also saying goodbye to a few!!! First up is our amazingly beautiful, talented and driven Maddie Postma. She is the CEO of Madly Lashed and soon to be Salon & Suite Manager. Finishing the program within a week of her 21st birthday, she is determined to become a licensed esthetician in no time.

We wish you all the best and we are excited to see what the future holds for you.

Oh what a time we had today participating in the “Back To School” community service event. Our students got some much needed experience working with kids, while learning the importance of giving back.

Join us TODAY as we help the City of Montgomery and Change Nonprofit Organization prepare our kiddos as they head back to school. The students and alumni will be on hand to offer the following FREE services:
- Clipper cuts
- Shear cuts
- Silk presses
- Press-and-curls
- Thermal curls
- Simple hairstyles
- Waterless manicures
- Basic facials
- Feed-in braids (with or without hair; limited to 2-4 braids)!!!

All participants MUST HAVE THEIR HAIR SHAMPOOED & BLOW DRIED prior to receiving a braiding or styling service!!!

On yesterday, 5 of our amazing night students accompanied Student Peer Coach, Ms. Domineck along with President Thompson to The Black Beauty Expo in Atlanta, Georgia. These ladies attended micro links, natural hair and AI classes, shopped on the vendor floor and took in a hair & fashion show. Afterwards, it was on to a few of TTC’s trusted supply vendors and dinner at Mary Mac’s Tearoom.

It’s trips like these that create “bonding experiences” for classmates and allows our faculty to share in each student’s individual journey. The ladies had an amazing time and were treated to a great meal!!!

July has truly been a busy one here at TTC. From adding a new location for The Senior SalonS by TTC, working with the team from Transitions Construction & Designs Corp on our graduate salon, Beyond TTC Salon-Spa & Suites; to completing our WIOA application and putting our systems in place for our upcoming participation in the Title IV program through the Department of Education; we have been consistently “on the move”.

We welcomed guest speakers, new clients and registered just shy of 20 new students for our August class. Curriculum updates began for our current programs and we enjoyed a much needed Summer Break. As we usher in a new month, we look forward to new opportunities, partnerships and growth.

As we approach the start of a new school term, preparing our principals, faculty and staff is just as; if not more important than readying our students. Encouraging self-care habits and providing them with a token of our appreciation is paramount. With that being said, our President has approved our “Appreciation Event” where COMPLIMENTARY SERVICES will be provided for any principal, teacher, faculty, or staff member in Montgomery or surrounding counties over a 10-day period.

Beginning Monday, July 27th 2026, stop by our campus between 9:30am and 7:30pm Monday through Thursday, or 10:00am- 1:30pm on Friday to receive your service. Please note, you will be required to provide proof of employment and we will only provide 1 complimentary service of your choice.

These services will be provided on a walk-in basis only!!!! We look forward to seeing you!!!

We have been hard at work on several projects for TTC, INC. This includes new certification classes, new educational partnerships; and completing the final steps of our Title IV implementation.

Our President is committed to improving the quality and customization of all our certification programs by January 2027. From our ABOCB and AMTLB programs to our Business and Journeyman courses; “meaningful education” is required to meet the demands of today’s workforce.

It’s VOLUNTEER TIME AGAIN!!! Yes, in addition to our $25 Shampoo & Pixie Style July Special, we are also offering a FREE SHAMPOO, PIXIE CUT & STYLE to 7 Day Clients and 8 Evening Clients on Monday and Tuesday of next week!!! Only 2 days!!! These services will be performed by our sophomore and junior students who are eager to become well-rounded barbers and stylists. To sign up, please inbox a photo of your hair WITHOUT ANY EXTENSIONS OR EMBELLISHMENTS!!!

Please note all volunteers MUST BE CHEMICALLY RELAXED or naturally straight. This service will not be performed on natural hair with extremely coily, curly or kinky textures!!
Also send your desired appointment time and/or day, MONDAY OR TUESDAY 7/13 or 7/14; times between 9am-2pm or 6pm-8pm.

There will be a charge for any required chemical or color services requested by the client. Previous volunteers within the last 6 months are not eligible.
