This week our gamers focused on different skills within their gamers’ book of learning. Here are the plays!

Language Unit Class-Attributes (big vs. small) and fine motor skills

Kindergarten Readiness Class-Short a vowel sound with CVC words (successive blending)

Kindergarten-Creating an art extension after reading the Literature text, “The Dot,” (sequence of events)

Grade 1-Which /ir/, /ur/, /er/? And also an enrichment extension after reading the text, “The Word Collector.”

Grade 2-Phonics spellings within connected text

Grade 3-Comparative and Superlative Adjectives

Grade 4-Fun Zone:Building a Math Community

Grade 5-Math is an Art: Collage of Fractions

OMI-Riding yoshi from class to class, engaging in Basic Fact Relay Races

We are all leveling up our learning! No worries here… Princess Peach will definitely be rescued from Dragon Bowser by the end of the game!!! We are going to celebrate all of the successes BIG!

And just like that, Week 1 of the Summer Learning Program has been unlocked! We ended the week by ensuring we show the Summer Learning Players a token of appreciation by powering them up for the next level! We are expecting higher levels of learning in the Land of Opportunities for our gamers on next week!

Who’s babysitting this summer? Not the Halcyon Summer Learning Program Staff! We are leveling up with Student Success as our main focus! This afternoon, we engaged in a data meeting so that our teacher players can paint a picture of where the student gamers ended on their iReady Spring Screening, and where we need to take them! Yes… we CAN go somewhere in 15 days!!! Today, we shared our Data Stories. Then, we put on our reflective practitioner hat to outline the game plan. Some of us…our Kindergarten Players… were very creative with “Dotting Out” their data! We are going to work hard and play even harder this summer!!!! Love my staff!!!
