As the 2025–2026 academic year closes, we are inviting educators to participate in a brief qualitative study exploring how this school year is being experienced across educational contexts. Our burning question: How would you describe 2025-2026 academic year – in a song? We are interested in taking the pulse of educators from all areas of the field under the lens of music.
This study seeks to understand how educators would describe the year overall and why. To make the reflection process engaging and personally meaningful, participants are invited to select a “theme song” that represents their experience of the year. Participation involves responding to a short set of open-ended questions and should take approximately 5-10 minutes.
Your insights will contribute to a broader understanding of educator experiences across roles, career stages, and geographic contexts. Participation is voluntary, and all responses will be kept confidential.
If you are willing to participate, please use the link below:

Teacher candidates in Mrs. Andria Walker’s PHED 4183 Measurement and Evaluation in Physical Education course hosted the annual Family Fun & Fitness Night at Eclectic Elementary School on April 27. This year’s theme was ESPN Students vs Parents Showdown. Participants competed against each other in 4 events- soccer, basketball, football and whiffle ball. After each event, MVPs were selected based on performance. In the end, the students earned the coveted trophy. It was a great night for all!

We would like to thank Eclectic Elementary School for its continued partnership with AUM’s Department of Kinesiology. Time spent in the physical education setting each spring semester provides our teacher candidates with invaluable, real-life experience.
